I am fully licensed to provide psychotherapy in both New York and New Jersey.
In New York, I hold an LCSW-R license.
In New Jersey, I am an LCSW and a Certified Clinical Supervisor. As a Certified Clinical Supervisor, I have completed the advanced, board-mandated training required to mentor and evaluate the next generation of therapists as they work toward their own independent clinical licensure.

In New York State, the "R" in LCSW-R stands for "psychotherapy privilege." It is the highest level of clinical distinction awarded to a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, requiring at least three years of strictly supervised, post-licensure clinical experience. For you as a client seeking out-of-network benefits, this credential means that insurance companies recognize my psychotherapy services at the highest level of independent clinical practice. Because of this, my services are typically eligible for reimbursement at the highest tier, equivalent to that of a clinical psychologist. (Please note that the actual reimbursement rate will vary depending on your specific insurance payer and your out-of-network benefits)Item description

We are in the process of phasing out insurance and transitioning to a cash-pay practice. We are an out-of-network provider for most insurance payers. While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide you with a detailed receipt (known as a superbill). You can submit this superbill to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement, or use it to submit claims to your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA).

Yes, we offer a sliding fee scale for those with limited financial resources. Please feel free to inquire.

Therapy is considered a qualified medical expense. The IRS currently allows you to deduct out-of-pocket medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) if you itemize your deductions. Because tax situations vary greatly, we strongly recommend consulting with your accountant or a tax professional to determine your eligibility for this deduction.
-
Under the federal No Surprises Act, health care providers are required to give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy. Because we are an out-of-network, cash-pay practice, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost before your first session.

Yes. Your privacy is our priority, and the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a therapist is strictly protected by law and professional ethics. Information is only disclosed with your written permission, with a few legal exceptions (such as if there is suspected child or elder abuse, or if a client presents an imminent danger to themselves or others).
